I'm Dannika Pihlaja-Kuhna, and I've had a lifelong journey in the world of hairdressing. I was born and raised in Vancouver, Canada, where I embarked on my hairstyling odyssey in 2004. My fascination with the artistry of hair and beauty was ignited during my early years, when I would experiment by cutting and styling the hair of my dolls and Barbies. This passion soon led me to become the go-to hairdresser for my high school peers at the young age of 13, where I delved into coloring, cutting, and styling, not only for friends but some of my teachers as well.

Upon my high school graduation in 2004, I wasted no time and immediately began my formal training in pursuit of my passion.  I began my career in a salon, where I had the privilege of being mentored by a talented stylist for six years. Eventually, an opportunity arose to become the owner of that same salon leading to the opening of Dannika's Hair Bar.

In 2016, I embarked on a new chapter by relocating to Dublin, Ireland, where I joined the team of an award-winning salon, thriving in a fast-paced environment for two exhilarating years. Following this experience, I made my way to Finland, returning to my father's hometown, Munsala. It was here that I continued my journey, working alongside the very best team, building a clientele made of wonderful people in Nykarleby for an additional five years.

Over the course of my 20 year career in hairdressing, I've held one principle close to my heart – the power of continuous education. This belief extends not only to myself but to every guest who sits in my chair. In an ever-evolving industry where change is the only constant and innovations are endless, knowledge is power.

I am thrilled to begin this journey at Colour Lab. It's an opportunity for me to polish my craft for my existing guests as well as future guests, establishing a prominent and positive presence within this community. I am fully committed to leaving a lasting positive mark, not only by enhancing the beauty of each individual but also by contributing positively to their life's journey.
